-Google panda
- Initially, Panda was a filter than a part of a Google’s core algorithm, but in January 2016, it was launched on 24 February 2011. It was officially incorporated into the ranking algorithm. This doesn’t mean that panda is now applied to search results in real time.
- Google penguin
- Link Schemes: The development, or purchase of backlinks low quality or unrelated websites, and also Spam links.
- Keyword stuffing: Populating a webpage with large numbers of keywords in an attempt to manipulate rank via the appearance of relevance to specific search
phrases.
- Google hummingbird
- It was launched on 20th august, 2013. Hummingbird has been cited as a complete overhaul of the core algorithm.
- Hummingbird did not appear to have drastic negative impacts on the general web like panda and penguin.
- Hummingbird algorithm works on User’s intent and it’s a real time algorithm.
- Google Bert
- The Bert algorithm (Bidirectional Encoder representation from Transformers) is a deep learning algorithm related to natural language processing.
- Bert helps google understand natural language text from web.
- Google Rank brain
- It was launched on 26th of October 2015. Rank brain is a machine learning (AI) algorithm that google uses to sort the search results.
- In the Rank brain there are two major types of functions dwell time and ctr and bounce rate.
• Dwell time = Dwell is the duration between user clicks on search engine results, and when the users return from those results, or is otherwise seen to have left the results
• CTR = It means Click-through-rate. It is the ratio of users who clicks on a specific link to the numbers of total users who view a page, email or advertisements.
• Bounce rate = Bounce rate measure the number of users who enter a website and exit without visiting any other page on the website.
- Google pigeon
- It was launched on 24th of July 2014.
- It provides more useful, relevant and accuracy on local search results that are tied more closely to traditional web search ranking signals.
- This algorithm keeps improving their distances and locating ranking parameters.
- Google hilltop
- Google hilltop algorithm is launched officially in February 2003.
- The work of this algorithm is to identify authoritative web pages to rank, and it is created by Krishna bharat while he was at Compaq systems Research Centre.
- It also used to find documents relevant to a particular keyword topic in news search.
- When you enter a query or keyword into the Google news search engine, the hilltop algorithms help to find a relevant keyword whose results are more informative about the query or keyword.
- Possum
- Google possum algorithm was launched on September 1, 2016
- It was impacted on the results comes from google my business (local searches)
- The main objective was to diversify the local searches and filter out spam results that may have been previously ranking.
- There are also some impacts of the Google possum algorithm update like Business outside cites and searcher location vital
- Google Fred
- Google Fred was officially launched as an algorithm on March 8, 2017
- Google Fred does not like an extremely large presence of ads and thin content.
- Also google Fred doesn’t like a keyword stuffing
- Google Fred’s algorithm update rolled out in an attempt to remove what Google perceived as low-quality results.
